Proton Persona Front
Proton Persona Rear
Introduction
The Proton Persona is definitely one of the most popular passenger sedans to be seen on the roads. Looking at the styling, it sure looks like the Iriz hatchback. Of course, this is the fate that most of the hatchback-turned-sedans face these days, resemble the hatchback counterpart heavily.
The current third generation Proton Persona was launched back in August 2016. It is based on an extended Proton Iriz platform, and is sold as a saloon complement to the Iriz hatchback. It directly replaced the nine-year-old CM Persona in its home market.
Interior of the Persona
The Proton Persona is a very comfortable car all around, and the same goes for the interior as well. The settings and layout look quite similar to the Iriz hatchback. Things look quite soothing and extremely voluminous. The semi-sculpted seats are designed to be ergonomic and comfortable at the same time. Moreover, due credit should be given for adding good quality fabric or leather upholstery.
However it is important to take note that the interior colour scheme is different for the bottom and top two trims. The lower variants get the matte black setting whereas the top two get titanium chrome finish.
The premium version of the Persona gets a 2-DIN touchscreen infotainment system along with GPS navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, USB and AUX-in ports. The top two trims get steering-mounted audio controls and rear USB charging point.
In addition, the rear seat can be folded 60:40 in the top trims. There are two speakers for the base variant while the top trims get four. The center console too gets an analog-digital touch, that is, it comes with a digital MID display placed in the centre of two analog dials, a tachometer, and a speedo.

Boot Space of the Persona
The trunk lid has a 510-litre capacity and can be remotely released with a button inside. The guide from the reverse camera is routed to the display screen on the dashboard.
The Boot space of the Persona is 2 litres larger than the bezza at 508 litres and 4 litres larger than the Vios at 506 litres.
Exterior of the Persona
The Persona is based on the Iriz platform, the Persona shares the same 2,555 mm wheelbase length as the hatchback, as well as its width (1,722 mm) and height (1,554 mm). Obviously, the sedan body style sees an increase to the vehicle’s length, which measures 4,387 mm, an increase of 467 mm from the Iriz.
In terms of design, the Persona is very clearly based on the Iriz hatchback, but with a few small revisions. The headlamps and grille are slimmer on the sedan, while the lower grille features a redesigned number plate holder section. On models with front fog lamps, they are circular in shape as well. With the extension at the rear, the Persona also gets its own tail lamp design separate from the ones on the Iriz.
